Well, with Haren to the Angels for Saunders, and Oswalt probably waiving his NTC to go to Philly, what impact do they have on your MLB team? By "your", I mean the one you root for, not the one you own.

STL--Wouldn't give up Shelby Miller, and the Astros werent' dealing in the division. I'm not happy that GM is throwing in the towel on this year b/c 2 SP are hurt, they have a SP who wants to play for them...and he won't pull the trigger.

Cleveland fans: Quick Question: What are the Cards getting if they trade Ludwick for Westbrook? I think STL gets killed on this deal.

Not a Cle fan but I'll say that while I don't think it's an amazing deal it makes some sense. Jay looks capable of taking over in the OF and they need an arm. As mediocre as Westbrook looks, he'll probably look a bit better pitching in the NL in a pitchers park.

I think the Cards traded an asset (Ludwick) that 99% of the teams who are selling pitchers wouldn't want, and b/c Westbrook is overpaid the Indians probably took less back prospect wise to deal him. Would that trade have worked with someone like Ted Lilly or Wandy Rodriguez or maybe Paul Maholm (other rumoured arms on the table)? I don't think it would. The best other option may have been to trade Ludwick for prospects & prospects for a SP (ie Lilly) and hope the prospects you get somewhat net the prospects you trade ... but that's a dangerous game, ask the Phillies (re: Lee/Halladay, where I think they got hosed on the Cliff Lee to Sea deal).

Yay for more Jon Jay!

Also, more Ludwick! But in SD...

Extreme groundballer. Innings eater. Not too much re: K's. Good #3, Indians D is horrendous.

Holy shit I want to punch Ned Colleti in the face. The Lilly trade is okay...but the Dotel deal? Inexcusable.

Yes Westbrook isn't anything incredible, but that team has been starting Jeff Suppan and Jon Jay is enjoying a great (albeit BABIP happy) debut. I understand it. Boy that is a lot for Dotel. I think Boston's Salty deal has some nice upside but they gave up some dangerous upside in Mendez, and McGuinness isn't bad either. Remember when they dealt Beltre in the Gagne deal, and now he is a clear top 100 guy? etc.

If that what Dotel is worth than the crazy rumours about what the Jays asked for Downs must be true.
